Recipe for the Last All Nighter of the Summer

Ingredients
-utensils-
at least 1 physical person, just yourself is fine, but it's more fun when you add some high school friends (4 is the perfect number)
1 handful of online friends
1 vehicle(we took Caren)
alternatively: bikes, skateboards, rollerblades, or personal ambulation but use any of these modes of transportation at your own risk
1 reusable bag (optional but if you're not using one, try carrying your items instead of getting a plastic bag)
optional: at least 1 picture-taking device like a phone, digital camera, or film camera

-daytime ingredients-
1 magic nutrition-shake shop that is only open when you go there with a certain friend
2 1/2 thrift store runs (feel free to substitute any thrift, consignment, or antique store here)
>>>1 Goodwill run (acid-wash vintage jean jackets for only $4, anyone?)
>>>1 1/2 trips to UpThrift (where we strip mannequins to get the good clothes and then wander back in to purchase a hat for a friend)
1 Chinese restaurant
1 craft store run (we went to Joanne but again, feel free to substitute)
3 trips for ice cream
1 talk of the zombie apocalypse
1 group chat call in a parking lot that turns into an unexpected meet up with another friend

-nighttime ingredients-
1 playlist with all your jams
1 drive down back roads at sunset
1 hotel pool & sauna
1 late-night McDonalds run
1 late-night Walmart run
1 shopping cart full of snacks
1 trip to a park
1 impromptu catwalk on picnic tables
1 carton of old Chinese food (don't eat it. please. it isn't worth the food poisoning.)
1 car blanket
1 wade in a body of water (we made use of the local lake but honestly a kiddy pool would've been just as fun)
1 late-night drive down more back roads (it really helps the atmosphere when it's foggy but there's also a full moon. please drive responsibly.)
1 late-night conversation with another friend who's also pulling an all-nighter

Instructions

Combine daytime ingredients, gradually adding friends. Stop when sun goes down and mixture appears slightly tired, but happy.

Mix nighttime ingredients carefully. Remember that the later it gets, the earlier it actually is. If mixture appears extremely sleep-deprived to the point of passing out, abort mission and follow a recipe for sleep.

for legal reasons, i can't recommend any of these activities. follow this recipe at your own risk and if you get injured, please don't come for me. also thanks to the people who made my night. you rock.

xxx,

carley
